Shanghai Electro-Mechanical Engineering Institute (SEMEl) was established in January 1978 and serves as one ofthe most important aerospace system design research institutes in China. lt primarily undertakes the cutting-edgedevelopment research, key technology research, system design, system integration, system test and verificationsystem delivery and after-sales service of aerospace vehicles. lt also possesses a first-class level in China in theprofessional fields of system design, aerocraft design, System of Systems (SoS) and system simulation, navigationguidance and control, structural mechanics analysis, reliability analysis, and electronic measurement and control. Afterfour decades development, the SEMEl has advantages in cross-domain/heterogeneous SoS countermeasure jointsimulation, MBSE-based aerocraft system design, mixed virtual and physical system parallel simulation for both indooland outdoor fields, and hardware-in-the-loop simulation of quidance and control systems. it has established systemtest centers and ranges for SoS simulation, guidance and control system simulation, system anti-jamming simulationetc. There are currently more than 1000 employees, over 800 with master degrees or above, more than 450 senioldesigners in the institute. The SEMEl also has the capability to cultivate master degree candidates and postdoctoralresearchers in the first-level disciplines.
